Tutorial Problem with "2.2.3 Compiler Errors"

Following through the example, when I press "C-x `", instead of point
moving to the erroneous location in the top buffer, I get the message:


"No more errors yet"

Similarly, in 2.3.4 I see '_' where 'H' and 'W' are shown in the picture...
